Using Avast Antivirus with Time Doctor

This tutorial applies to Avast Free Antivirus 7.

If you are running Avast Internet Security, you might receive a popup message from Avast that might prevent Time Doctor from running. The following will show you how to exclude Time Doctor from Avast's blocking features.

1. With Avast installed and running, click on the Avast icon in the system tray to open it.

2. In the menu on the left-hand side, click on Additional Protection. Select AutoSandbox from the sub-menu, then click on the Settings button.

3. At the bottom of the page, where it says Files that will be excluded from automatic sandboxing, is the option to add an application. Click browse to find the Time Doctor executable (.exe) file.

This is the complete path for Time Doctor in Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10:

C:\Program Files\TimeDoctor\TimeDoctor.exe

For 64-bit operating systems, the program folder is labeled Program Files (x86):

C:\Program Files (x86)\TimeDoctor\TimeDoctor.exe

4. Click on the Time Doctor icon and then click Open.

5. The complete path for Time Doctor will be added to the exclusion list. You can then click Add.

Congratulations! You can now run Time Doctor without getting a popup from Avast.
